The Third International Symposium on Coupled Phenomena in Environmental Geotechnics (CPEG2020+1) will be held on October 20–21, 2021, via the Zoom platform, with waived registration fee. The program (pdf) for the online symposium is now available. About eighty papers from all over the world will be presented at the two-day event. Considering the time zones of the participants, the sessions have been divided into morning and evening hours as follows:
1. Morning hours in Japan time (9:00 AM–2:00 PM): Participants residing in The Americas, Australasia and East Asia
2. Evening hours in Japan time (6:00 PM–11:00 PM): Participants residing in Europe, Africa, Australasia, and entire Asia.
The papers will be published through JGSSP(Japanese Geotechnical Society Special Publication) prior to the symposium on October 12, with free access (no charge).
We are delighted to share with you that thanks to our generous sponsor, Obayashi Foundation, the registration fee for CPEG2020+1 has been waived for all participants! We will soon be publishing the registration form required to access all sessions on our website (www.cpeg2020.org). The registration process, albeit free, will be compulsory for all participants, presenters and attendees, since the Zoom link will be sent only to the registrants. Please keep visiting our website regularly as we will keep you informed about the registration process there.
Thank you for your patience during these uncertain times, as we have adapted our symposium to be still the best place to share your research on coupled phenomena on environmental geotechnics. The quality of the submitted works helps us predict a fantastic event, and we are looking forward to it.
We hope to see you all (virtually) on October 20–21, 2021!
We would like to sincerely apologize for postponing again the CPEG symposium. The new dates for the symposium are October 20-22, 2021. The venue will remain to be in Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. The decision to delay the symposium was made so that it can be held with more participants attending in-person with others online, as this will promote greater interaction among our delegates. We would like to thank all the partners and registered members for their support and understanding.
We apologize again for those who have inconveniences due to this re-postponement. We would be happy if the dates will work fine for all of you.
If the authors wish to update their already-accepted manuscript, they can do so by May 30, 2021, by sending the updated manuscript directly to the organizer (firstname.lastname@example.org).
New submissions may be accepted with the schedule of February 28 for manuscript submission and June 30 for final submission after peer review. Prior contact to the organizer (email@example.com) is required.
In light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, CPEG2020 which was originally scheduled to take place from October 29th to 30th, 2020, in Kyoto, Japan, has officially been postponed to March 17th to 19th, 2021. The venue will remain to be in Kyoto University’s main campus.
In the meantime, we will continue as planned with the paper review process and notification of paper acceptance.
The decision was made in the interest of the health and safety of everyone participating in the symposium. We would like to thank all the partners and registered members for their support and understanding.
All updates regarding the symposium will be posted on this website, so please keep visiting our website regularly. We look forward to hosting you in Kyoto in March.
Autumn is the best time of the year to see beautifully colored foliage in Kyoto. At various points in the city, on the street and at temples/shrines, you will find maple trees colored in red as well as other colorful trees. On Yoshida Campus of Kyoto University, too, red autumn leaves and a number of bright yellow gingko trees attract visitors during this season.
